Where to buy the LG W4X5016TLB washer-dryer
🏆 Review & price summary
The LG W4X5016TLB washer dryer is a strong option for large households that prioritise drum capacity, connected controls and advanced wash functions. Its 11kg wash capacity, 1400rpm selectable spin, AI Direct Drive, TurboWash 360, steam technology and ThinQ features give it a broad specification.
✓ Key strengths
- ✓ Large 11kg wash capacity combined with a useful 6kg drying capacity
- ✓ A-rated wash-only efficiency with 31kWh per 100 cycles on the product fiche
- ✓ AI Direct Drive, 6 Motion Direct Drive, TurboWash 360, steam technology and load sensing
- ✓ Wi-Fi ThinQ connectivity with remote start, downloadable cycles and energy monitoring
- ✓ Stainless steel drum, drum light, child lock and a wide temperature range up to 95°C
Worth considering
- The complete wash-and-dry cycle is D-rated and uses 308kWh per 100 cycles, despite the A-rated wash-only cycle
- The 6kg drying capacity is substantially smaller than the 11kg wash capacity, so a full wash load cannot be dried in one go
- The full wash-and-dry programme takes 465 minutes, or 7 hours 45 minutes
- There is no ezDispense automatic detergent dosing system, so detergent must be measured separately

Steam technology is included, but LG does not list a separate Steam additional option. The appliance is A-rated for washing alone and D-rated for the complete wash-and-dry cycle; the complete-cycle rating is used for the efficiency assessment.
Capacity and wash performance
The LG W4X5016TLB washer dryer combines an 11kg wash capacity with a 6kg drying capacity, making it well suited to large laundry loads. The capacity difference is important: a full wash load cannot be transferred directly into a full drying cycle without removing some items.
Washing specifications are strong, with an A wash-only energy rating, a B spin-performance rating, selectable spinning up to 1400rpm, AI Direct Drive, 6 Motion Direct Drive, load sensing, TurboWash 360 and steam technology. Programmes include AI Wash, Eco 40-60, Mixed Fabric, Easy Care, Wool, Allergy Care, Quick 14, TurboWash 39 and Wash+Dry.
Drying and energy use
The complete wash-and-dry cycle is rated D, with the full-load test using 308kWh per 100 cycles and 90 litres of water per cycle. LG gives the full wash-and-dry programme a 465-minute duration, so this appliance is better suited to planned laundry routines than to quick turnaround drying.
For wash-only use, the machine is considerably more efficient on paper: the Eco 40-60 programme is A-rated, uses 31kWh per 100 cycles and 46 litres per cycle at full load. BestBuysUK's efficiency assessment is based on the D-rated complete cycle, as that is the relevant rating for a washer dryer.
Smart controls and programmes
LG ThinQ connectivity adds remote start, cycle monitoring, downloadable cycles, energy monitoring, Smart Diagnosis, Tub Clean Coach and Smart Pairing. The dial, touch buttons and LED display provide conventional controls as well as app-based operation.
The feature set is broad, with a stainless steel drum, drum light, child lock, pre-wash, Rinse+, delay end, temperature settings from cold to 95°C and automatic load sensing. LG does not include ezDispense automatic detergent dosing or an Add Item function.
Fit, noise and practical ownership
The freestanding appliance measures 600mm wide by 850mm high and 565mm deep, although LG also specifies 620mm from the rear cover to the door and 1100mm with the door open to 90 degrees. Those additional measurements should be checked before installation.
LG specifies 71dB for spinning and displays a Quiet Mark badge on the product page. The cold-only water retailer information, 70kg appliance weight and lack of an Add Item function are also relevant practical details when planning installation and everyday use.
Research note: this BestBuysUK assessment is based on the manufacturer's published specifications and other reputable technical sources. Specifications and retailer availability can change, so verify critical details before purchase.
