The manual confirms delay-start and remaining-time functions, but the published technical data does not consistently state the maximum delay period. This review avoids claiming a specific delay duration.
Capacity and installation
The Indesit EWDE 761483 W UK washer dryer combines a 7kg washing capacity with a 6kg drying capacity in a standard 595mm-wide freestanding cabinet. That is a practical size for many households, although a full wash load cannot be dried in one go without removing some items first.
The 535mm appliance depth is useful where space is limited, while the front-loading design and adjustable feet make it straightforward to position as a conventional freestanding laundry appliance.
Programmes and everyday controls
The Indesit EWDE 761483 W UK washer dryer offers 16 programme positions, including Eco 40-60, Cotton, Synthetics, Wool, White, 20°C, rinse, spin, drain and dedicated drying cycles. Its LED display shows programme information and remaining cycle time, while the selector dial and buttons provide direct control over temperature, spin speed and drying settings.
Useful options include Extra Wash for heavily soiled items, Extra Rinse for improved detergent removal and Easy Iron, which modifies the wash and spin stages to reduce creasing. A delay-start function is also documented in the manual, although the published technical data is inconsistent about the maximum delay period.
Drying performance
The 1400rpm maximum spin speed and B-rated spin-drying efficiency should help reduce the amount of moisture left in laundry before drying. The machine also uses moisture monitoring and offers Iron Dry, Hanger Dry, Cupboard Dry and Extra Dry settings, alongside timed drying from 30 to 180 minutes.
For small urgent loads, the Wash&Dry 45 programme is designed for up to 1kg in 45 minutes, while Wash&Dry 90 handles up to 2kg in 90 minutes. These cycles are convenient for lightly soiled clothing, but they are not substitutes for the full-capacity wash-and-dry programme.
Efficiency, noise and running time
The complete wash-and-dry cycle carries a D energy rating, while wash-only performance is rated C. The energy label records 307kWh per 100 full wash-and-dry cycles and 59kWh per 100 washing cycles, so the machine is more efficient when used for washing alone than for continuous washing and drying.
The rated full-capacity wash-and-dry programme takes 9 hours 20 minutes and uses 65 litres of water. Spinning is rated at 78dB with a C noise class, which is an audible figure and less suitable for buyers who need particularly quiet operation near living areas.
Verdict
The Indesit EWDE 761483 W UK washer dryer is a practical, feature-rich two-in-one appliance with useful short cycles, flexible drying levels and a good maximum spin speed. Its main compromises are the lower 6kg drying capacity, the long full wash-and-dry cycle and the D complete-cycle energy rating.
It is best suited to buyers who want everyday washing with occasional or moderate drying convenience, rather than households that regularly need to wash and dry full loads as economically and quietly as possible.
