Flexible cooking layout

The Miele KM 8565 FL induction hob has four cooking zones and two 230 x 390 mm PowerFlex bridge areas. This gives it a useful balance between conventional pan cooking and larger cookware such as griddles or roasting dishes.

Its four-zone layout supports a maximum of four pans, while the PowerFlex areas can combine cooking zones into larger bridge areas when required. The arrangement remains more structured than a full-surface induction hob, but it is substantially more adaptable than a standard four-zone design.

Controls and everyday cooking

Four MultiSlide sliders provide direct control over the cooking zones, with a yellow display and intelligent pan recognition. Pan and pan-size recognition are also included, helping the controls respond to the cookware position and size.

Useful cooking functions include Booster, automatic heat-up, Stop & Go, a recall function, minute minder, keeping warm and wipe protection. These features give the hob a broad set of practical controls without relying solely on connected services.

Smart features

The Miele KM 8565 FL induction hob supports Miele@home and Con@ctivity, with additional smart functions including recipes, CookAssist, NFC pairing, push notifications, RemoteUpdate and smart-home integration.

It is M Sense ready for compatible M Sense cookware. This can add assisted cooking and frying functions, although the full M Sense experience depends on using the matching cookware rather than the hob alone.

Installation and electrical requirements

The black glass-ceramic hob measures 620 x 520 mm and is 51 mm high. It can be installed either surface-mounted or flush-fit, with a 600 x 500 mm surface-mounted cut-out or flush-fit dimensions of 600/624 x 500/524 mm.

The total rated load is 7.36 kW at 230 V, so electrical planning is more demanding than for lower-powered hobs. A mains cable is included, and the 10 kg unit is designed as an independent built-in hob rather than a freestanding appliance.

Safety and cleaning

The ceramic-glass surface is described by Miele as easy to clean. Safety equipment includes safety switch-off, a lock function, system lock, integrated cooling fan, overheating protection and a residual-heat indicator.

The combination of pan recognition, automatic shut-off functions and residual-heat indication makes the specification reassuring for everyday use, although the surface still requires the normal care associated with glass-ceramic hobs.
