🏆 Review & price summary

The AEG IAX64411CB induction hob offers fast four-zone induction cooking in a standard 60cm built-in format. Its strongest features are the direct 1–14 touch scale, powerful PowerBoost, SenseBoil automatic boiling control and Hob2Hood extractor integration. It is less suitable for buyers needing a bridge zone, plug-in installation or broad compatibility from the SenseBoil function.

✓ Key strengths

  • ✓ Fast induction heating with a 7, 350W total electrical loading
  • ✓ PowerBoost reaches up to 3, 700W on the strongest cooking zone
  • ✓ SenseBoil automatically reduces heat after water reaches boiling point
  • ✓ Direct 1–14 touch control avoids repeatedly stepping through heat levels
  • ✓ Hob2Hood can adjust a compatible extractor automatically
  • ✓ Useful Pause, EcoTimer, timer, child-lock and automatic switch-off functions

Worth considering

  • Hardwired connection only, so it needs suitable electrical provision and qualified installation rather than a simple plug-in connection
  • There is no flexible bridge zone, limiting the hob's usefulness with large griddles, roasting pans or other oversized cookware
  • The right-front zone is the smallest and least powerful, rated at 1, 400W nominal and 2, 500W with PowerBoost
  • SenseBoil is limited to particular uses: the manual specifies water or potatoes and says it does not work with cast-iron or non-stick cookware

Fast, precise everyday cooking

The AEG IAX64411CB induction hob has four cooking zones and a total electrical loading of 7,350W, giving it the responsive heating expected from induction. Direct touch control uses a 1–14 scale, so heat can be selected directly rather than by repeatedly pressing plus or minus buttons.

PowerBoost is available on all four zones, with the strongest left-front zone reaching 3,700W. The zone layout is not completely uniform, however: the left-front zone is the most powerful, while the right-front zone is smaller and has a lower 1,400W nominal rating.

Useful automatic cooking features

SenseBoil is the standout feature. It detects the boiling point of water and automatically reduces the heat setting to help prevent boil-overs. The manual specifies that it is intended for water and potatoes, with between 1 and 5 litres of water, so it is a helpful specialist function rather than an all-purpose automatic cooking programme.

Hob2Hood can automatically adjust a compatible cooker hood as cooking conditions change. This is useful when paired with the right extractor, but it is a communication feature rather than integrated extraction: the hob itself has no built-in venting system.

Installation and design

The frameless black hob measures 59cm wide, 52cm deep and 4.4cm high, with a stated 56cm by 49cm cut-out requirement. Its square frameless design should suit a clean, modern worktop installation.

Connection is hardwired only, so installation requires suitable electrical provision and a qualified electrician. That is less convenient than a plug-in appliance, but it is standard for a high-powered built-in induction hob.

Efficiency, safety and limitations

EcoTimer switches a zone off before the end of a timed cooking period so residual heat can finish the dish. The hob also includes Pause, a minute minder, child lock, automatic switch-off and a three-stage residual-heat indicator.

There is no flexible bridge zone, so the cooking areas cannot be combined for a large griddle or roasting pan. The manual also states that SenseBoil does not work with cast-iron or non-stick cookware, which limits how broadly that feature can be used.
