Where to buy the Smeg DF344BW dishwasher
🏆 Review & price summary

Cleaning performance and programmes
The Smeg DF344BW dishwasher combines the Planetarium washing system with an Aquatest turbidity sensor and an Inverter 2.0 motor. That gives it a well-equipped specification for mixed household loads, with the sensor able to adjust the wash process according to water clarity.
There are 10+1 programmes, including Eco, Auto Sensor, Intense, Crystal, Quiet, Full Express 60 Minutes, Express 27 and Hygiene 99.9%. The temperature range runs from 38°C to 75°C, so there is useful separation between delicate glassware, everyday washing and intensive cleaning.
Loading flexibility
The three-basket layout is a major strength. Its FlexiDuo third basket has two movable sections that can be adjusted or removed, creating more room for tall glasses or larger utensils when required.
The upper basket has three foldable racks, a glass holder and three height positions, while the lower basket has four foldable racks and anti-drip inserts. Extra Glide runners should also make the upper basket easier to pull out when fully loaded.
Drying, noise and efficiency
Dry Assist+ automatically opens the door at the end of compatible cycles, working with the natural condenser drying system to improve moisture removal without relying solely on continued heating. This is a useful feature for plastics and for users who prefer not to leave the door open manually.
The B energy rating is supported by 63kWh per 100 Eco cycles and 9.0 litres of water per cycle. At 44dB, it should be unobtrusive in many kitchens, and the Quiet programme provides an additional low-noise option. The main efficiency compromise is the Eco programme duration of 4 hours 25 minutes.
Installation and everyday use
This is a standard full-size freestanding dishwasher, measuring 598mm wide and 600mm deep. It can accept either cold or hot water up to 60°C, includes Total Acquastop flood protection and has electronic controls with a three-digit display showing programme information and remaining time.
The delay timer can be set for up to 24 hours, and FlexiZone half-load washing is available for smaller loads. The freestanding design is straightforward for suitable kitchens, but it is not intended to disappear behind a matching furniture door.
