Specification note

Neff's UK product page and technical specification list five cooking zones. Its separate EU energy datasheet counts four cooking zones or areas because the flexible cooking area is treated differently for energy-labelling purposes.

Cooking flexibility

The Neff T68FHV4L0 induction hob provides five cooking positions, including a 40cm-long Flex Induction area. The flexible section can automatically join or separate cooking zones according to the size and position of the cookware, making it more adaptable than a conventional fixed-zone layout.

The cooking areas include a 180mm zone, a 145mm zone, a 240mm zone and two right-hand zones designed around 200mm and 210mm cookware diameters. Power Boost is available across all zones for faster heating.

Controls and cooking assistance

Twist Touch control gives each zone 17 power levels, including nine main settings and eight intermediate levels. The hob also includes automatic cookware detection, QuickStart, automatic zone selection and PowerTransfer for moving settings to another zone.

The Extended Frying Sensor regulates temperature to help prevent overcooking. Switch-off timers, a separate countdown timer, a keep-warm function through Home Connect and a configurable Favourite Button add useful day-to-day control.

Smart features and safety

Home Connect enables remote monitoring, appliance-status checks and access to additional cooking guidance through the app. When paired with a compatible connected extractor, Hob Hood Control and Smart Hood Automatic can activate the hood and adjust its fan speed according to cooking activity.

Safety equipment includes two-stage residual-heat indicators, a control-panel lock, pause mode, a main switch and automatic safety cut-out. These features make the hob easier to manage in a busy kitchen, although the connected functions depend on a suitable Home Connect account and compatible equipment.

Installation and ownership

This is a built-in, surface-mounted hob with a bevelled front edge and no surrounding frame. Its 802mm appliance width requires a 750mm-wide installation niche, with a recommended 490-500mm niche depth and a minimum 16mm worktop thickness.

The connected load is 7.4kW, although Neff provides power-management options for 20A, 16A, 13A and 10A installations. Buyers should therefore confirm the available electrical supply before installation.

Research note: this BestBuysUK assessment is based on the manufacturer's published specifications and other reputable technical sources. Specifications and retailer availability can change, so verify critical details before purchase.
