🏆 Review & price summary

The Miele KM 8595-2 FL MattFinish induction hob is designed for cooks who want substantially more working space than a standard built-in hob. Its six zones are arranged into three PowerFlex cooking areas, with the left and centre bridges offering particularly high Booster output for large pans, griddles and roasting dishes. Six individual MultiSlide controls, pan recognition and useful timer and safety functions make the layout more sophisticated than a basic touch-control hob.

✓ Key strengths

  • ✓ Very wide 936mm surface with space for up to six pans
  • ✓ Large cookware and roasting dishes
  • ✓ Strong Booster output on the left and centre cooking areas
  • ✓ Six individual MultiSlide controls with pan and pan-size recognition
  • ✓ Miele@home, Con@ctivity and M Sense readiness add advanced connected functionality
  • ✓ Surface-mounted and flush-fit installation options
  • ✓ Comprehensive safety and convenience functions, including Recall, Stop & Go, keeping warm and safety switch-off

Worth considering

  • The 9.2kW total rated load requires suitable electrical planning and is not comparable with simpler lower-load hobs
  • At 936mm wide and 16kg, it needs considerably more worktop space and handling care than a conventional 60cm hob
  • Three bridged cooking areas rather than full-surface induction, so cookware placement remains tied to the six defined zones
  • The most advanced M Sense cooking assistance requires compatible M Sense cookware, adding an ecosystem dependency

Flexible cooking space

The Miele KM 8595-2 FL MattFinish induction hob provides six cooking zones arranged as three PowerFlex cooking areas, allowing the left, centre and right sections to be used as bridged areas for larger cookware. Each area measures 230 x 390mm when bridged, while individual zones accept cookware with a base diameter of approximately 120–230mm.

This is a genuinely wide 936mm hob rather than a compact four-zone layout. It can accommodate up to six pans, although the three cooking areas mean it is not a full-surface induction hob where cookware can be placed anywhere.

Power and controls

The two larger PowerFlex bridges have a maximum rated output of 4,200W and a Booster rating of 7,360W, while the right-hand bridge is rated at 3,400W with a 3,650W Booster rating. The total connected load is 9.2kW, giving the hob strong capacity for rapid heating when the installation can support it.

Six MultiSlide touch controls provide a separate slider for each cooking area. Intelligent pan recognition and pan-size recognition can keep the controls relevant to the cookware in use, while Stop & Go, Recall, a minute minder, automatic switch-off, keeping warm and auto heat-up add useful everyday functions.

Smart features and M Sense readiness

Miele@home and Con@ctivity provide connected-appliance functionality, with support for features such as push notifications, RemoteUpdate, NFC pairing and smart-home integration. The connected features are an optional digital service and may depend on the local app and network setup.

The hob is M Sense ready for use with compatible M Sense cookware. That can add guided cooking and frying assistance, but it also means the most advanced assistance features depend on buying into the compatible cookware system.

Installation, cleaning and safety

The matt black glass-ceramic surface is designed to resist scratches and reduce the visibility of fingerprints. The hob supports both surface-mounted and flush-fit installation, with a 936mm appliance width and a 51mm casing height.

Safety equipment includes residual-heat indicators, overheating protection, an integrated cooling fan, a system lock, a lock function and safety switch-off. The 16kg weight, 936mm width and large cut-out requirements mean worktop preparation and professional installation planning are particularly important.
