Capacity and everyday washing
The Hotpoint HBWH 93 CARE UK washing machine has a 9kg drum and a maximum 1400rpm spin speed, giving it enough capacity for family-sized laundry loads and the extraction performance expected from a mainstream full-size machine.
Its programme range covers cottons, synthetics, mixed laundry, Eco 40-60, wool, rinse, spin and drain, with automatic load detection helping adjust the cycle to the amount of laundry inside.
Fabric and stain care
FabricCare is designed around a specially shaped drum and paddle structure that aims to distribute detergent effectively while reducing friction on fabrics. ColourCare provides a lower-temperature option intended to help protect colour vibrancy.
The Anti-Stain programme targets a range of common marks through changes to temperature, drum movement and rinsing. PetHairCare adds a prewash and extra rinse, making the Hotpoint HBWH 93 CARE UK washing machine particularly relevant to homes dealing with fur on clothing or bedding.
Quick programmes and steam refreshing
The Full Load 45 programme is designed for a complete 9kg load in 45 minutes, while Rapid 28'/14' provides a shorter option for lightly soiled clothing. Selecting the quickest wash setting reduces the permitted load to 2kg, so it is intended for small refresh loads rather than a full basket.
SteamCare is useful for refreshing a small amount of unspotted laundry and reducing creases, but it is a refresh programme rather than a conventional wash cycle. The machine also has an end-time function that can be set for up to 24 hours.
Efficiency, installation and controls
The Hotpoint HBWH 93 CARE UK washing machine has an A energy-efficiency rating, a stated 34kWh consumption figure per 100 cycles and 49 litres of water consumption per standard cycle. Its 72dB maximum spin noise level is acceptable for a standard freestanding machine, although it is not especially quiet.
This is a freestanding, front-loading model measuring 845mm high, 600mm wide and 580mm deep. Rotary and touch controls, a time-remaining display, adjustable feet, a child lock and a digital inverter motor provide a practical specification, but there is no smart connectivity.
