🏆 Review & price summary

The Bosch PUE611BB5E induction hob is a practical four-zone model for everyday cooking. Its main strengths are responsive induction heating, PowerBoost on every zone, 17-stage TouchSelect controls, QuickStart, Restart and a conventional frameless 60cm design.

✓ Key strengths

  • ✓ PowerBoost is available on all four zones and provides up to 50% more power for faster heating
  • ✓ Four conventional zones include a useful 21cm large zone and two 18cm zones
  • ✓ 17 power levels per zone allow more precise heat adjustment than a basic stepped-control hob
  • ✓ QuickStart, Restart, switch-off timing and countdown timing are useful for everyday cooking
  • ✓ Frameless black ceramic glass gives the hob a clean, easy-wipe appearance
  • ✓ Two-stage residual-heat indicators and a control-panel lock provide useful safety feedback

Worth considering

  • No flexible or bridge zone, so two cooking areas cannot be linked into one continuous heating zone for a long griddle or roasting dish
  • No dedicated keep-warm function, unlike more feature-rich induction hobs
  • No Home Connect or app-based controls
  • No plug is supplied, so the hob requires electrical connection by a qualified electrician

Cooking performance

The Bosch PUE611BB5E induction hob provides four cooking zones: two 18cm zones, a 14.5cm zone and a larger 21cm zone. Their standard outputs range from 1.4kW to 2.2kW, while the boost outputs reach up to 3.7kW on the largest zone.

PowerBoost is available on all four zones and provides up to 50% more power than the highest standard setting. This makes the hob well suited to quickly heating pans or bringing larger quantities of water to the boil, although the available power is shared within its 4.6kW connected load.

Controls and everyday use

TouchSelect controls provide 17 power settings for each zone, including intermediate levels for more precise adjustment. QuickStart selects the zone where suitable cookware is detected when the hob is switched on, while Restart can restore the previous settings if the hob is switched back on within four seconds of an accidental shutdown.

The Bosch PUE611BB5E induction hob also includes a switch-off timer, countdown timer and quick switch-off function. Two-stage residual-heat indicators for each zone, a control-panel lock and automatic safety shut-off add useful day-to-day safeguards.

Design and installation

This is a built-in, frameless hob with a black ceramic-glass surface. Its appliance dimensions are 51 x 592 x 522mm, with a required cut-out measuring 560mm wide and 490–500mm deep. The 60cm format is a conventional fit for many modern kitchen worktops.

The supply cable is 1.1m long and no plug is fitted, so electrical connection must be completed by an electrician. Bosch also specifies power-management options for 16A, 13A or 10A installations, subject to the property’s electrical setup.

What to consider before buying

This is a conventional four-ring induction layout rather than a flexible-zone design. Bosch does not provide automatic linking or separation of cooking zones, so two zones cannot be combined into one continuous heating area for a long griddle or roasting dish.

There is no dedicated keep-warm function and no Home Connect connectivity. The hob is therefore strongest as a straightforward cooking appliance rather than a smart or highly automated model.

Bosch publishes an energy consumption figure of 175Wh/kg for the hob but does not provide an A–G energy class. The efficiency assessment reflects the use of induction heating and that published consumption figure, rather than an energy-label band.

Research note: this BestBuysUK assessment is based on the manufacturer's published specifications and other reputable technical sources. Specifications and retailer availability can change, so verify critical details before purchase.
